The course is surrounded by sugarcane fields and borders in the east on the Indian Ocean, separated from the endless beach by a 50 metre wide belt of forested dunes. It has access to the beach. Peter Matkovich designed the course, which was opened in 1994. It is a links course and one of South Africa's best new courses. The park is of scenic beauty. One has terrific views of the ocean from the elevated tees. The fairways are lined with dense subtropical coastal vegetation and Lala palm trees. The course is rich in game . More than 230 bird species have been registered. The elegant clubhouse with colonial flair is positioned on the highest elevation of the course. It houses a bar and a restaurant with stunning views.
